Hans Bernhard ist Mitinhaber der Professur Netze an der Kunsthochschule für Medien Köln, Mitglied von UBERMORGEN und Mitgründer des Black Mirror Institutes. Vortrag auf Deutsch, Kurzinfo hier vorab auf Englisch:

NPCs populate the environments of games and usually serve the purposes of immersion or narrative. We take a deep look into the psychopathology of NPCs (Non Player Characters) and the interaction between PCs (Players) and NPCs and the connection between Binary Primitivism, Transhumanism and connected Psychopathologies prevalent in Silicon Valley. When discussing interactive digital media, the conversations largely revolve around humans acting on passive objects in an environment. Somebody sends an input, some thing returns an output. The human performer, as the sole operating ‘individual’ in a totally anthropocentric universe, is permanently at the center of the narrative, the spot where all seemingly relevant decisions are being made. But we are asking ourselves if it’s not us, as participants of interactive digital media, that are playing, but us that are being played by the environments, the simulations, the machines that have us answer to their impulses and influence us through machine-psychopathologies yet unknown.

Eine Veranstaltung im Rahmen der Vortragsreihe „somehow affected“ des Teilstudiengangs Design Interaktiver Medien.
